You can save a ruler dimension as a driving dimension in the Groups panel. When you click on a driving dimension created with MoveA tool used to translate or rotate geometry., the Move tool is automatically activated. Changing the dimension is like moving the object. The points, edges, faces, or axes for the dimension are moved if you change the dimension's value.

To add a driving dimension with the Move tool

1. Click Move in the Edit group on the Design2D or 3D model that contains at least one top-level component. tab.

2. Select the face or faces that you want the dimension to move if it is changed.

3. Click a direction or rotation axis on the move handle.

4. Click Ruler in the Options panelArea of the user interface that enables you to modify functions specific to tools. or the mini-toolbar.

5. Select the face, edge, or point where you want the selected faces dimensioned to.

6. Click Create Group on the GroupsSets of objects that appear in the Groups tab. You create a group from any set of selected objects. Information such as Selection, Alt+selection, move anchoring, axis, and ruler dimension is all stored with the group. panel.
