Creating an Offset Section as a New Cross-Section View
- Sketch a chain of lines in a drawing sheet view.
- Select a line segment.
- Enter the Cross Section tool.
- Move your mouse to place the planar cross section view.
The new view will be projected perpendicular to the selected line segment, which can be slanted.
DesignSpark Mechanical will find the other connected segments to create the view.
If the tool cannot find an unambiguous chain of lines, a planar section will be created.
Publishing a Cross-Section View to 3D
Right-click the cross-section view on the drawing sheet or in the Structure tree.
Select Publish to 3D from the context menu.
A published section appears as a root node in the Structure tree.
You can right-click the published cross-section in a Design window and select Clip with Plane. You can also use the Move tool to move a published cross-section.
